When I committed to climbing this mountain, I knew I would need to train physically, but I knew that the difference for me was going to be in the mental preparation. I knew it was going to be difficult and that I would have to dig deep into my emotional reserves. I was not going to allow my mindset to be the factor that cost me this summit.
Mindset training is like a pack-a-mac. It’s always there when you need it, giving you the means to carry on, when it might be easier to stay at home in your comfort zone.
The moment when I stopped fighting my life and united with it, in my mind and body, was the start of my recovery from the trauma of my son’s diagnosis. The skills were tested again, and with love and joy, I overcame adversity. I coach so I can share the wisdom this journey taught me.
